You love falling asleep to your favorite show.
Your sleep doesn't — a screen that stays bright and loud all night quietly ruins it.

Fall asleep to your show.
Your Mac sleeps after you.

Dodo gently dims the light and lowers the sound while you drift off — then hears that you're asleep and tucks your Mac in. You'll never remember it happening. That's the point.

macOS 13+ · notarized · no account · no card for the trial

Dodo running: 29:42 on the ring, sleep detection listening, auto-fade active …then puts your Mac to sleep. Dodo hears you falling asleep…
Dodo, live — mid-session, listening.
23:12 — play the fade, unnoticed asleep — Mac off

Nights left intact.

Light and sound melt away as you drift off. Deep sleep stays deep — no 3 a.m. floodlight, no surprise explosions.

A Mac that sleeps too.

No private screening until sunrise. Full battery in the morning, brightness and volume back exactly where you left them.

Not a timer

It hears you fall asleep.

Dumb sleep timers cut at zero — awake or not. Dodo listens, adapts, and acts on the real thing.

On-device sleep detectionBreathing rhythm and its regularity, analyzed live by your Mac. Our own R&D, tuned on real annotated nights. Nothing ever leaves your Mac — and recording is off unless you opt in to local auto-calibration.
Cuts early, not lateWhen Dodo hears you're out, it doesn't wait for the timer: fade to black, Mac to sleep — protecting your first, deepest cycle.
Three-layer fadeReal hardware brightness, warmer colors, softer volume — one gentle curve, even over fullscreen video.
Nap mode & still-awake guardDaytime naps end with a gentle wake, not a jolt. Still awake at night? One click adds +10/+20/+30.

Auto-calibration (optional, off by default): record your own nights — locally, for your eyes only — annotate them, and Dodo tunes its thresholds to your sleep. That's what €9.99 buys that a €4 timer can't.

The science, for the curious

Why the fade matters.

Evening screen light delays sleep.

Bright, blue-enriched light in the evening suppresses melatonin — the hormone that opens the door to sleep — and pushes your body clock later. Dodo's fade brings your display down to the warmth and level of a room at dusk while you watch.

Night-time noise fragments sleep.

Sounds during sleep trigger micro-arousals and lighter sleep stages, even when you don't remember waking. A show left playing does exactly that, all night. Dodo lowers it as you drift and stops it once you're out.

Questions, answered.

Why isn't Dodo on the App Store?

Dodo drives real hardware brightness and puts your Mac to sleep — system-level abilities the App Store sandbox forbids. So we ship the honest way: a signed, Apple-notarized download, like Lunar or f.lux.

What exactly does the microphone hear?

Sound level and breathing rhythm, processed live on your Mac. Nothing stored by default, nothing ever leaves the machine. There's a no-microphone mode if you'd rather not use it at all — and this page has no trackers either. View source.

Does it work offline?

Completely. The license re-checks quietly about once a week when online, with a generous grace period — a flight never locks you out.

What do I need?

macOS 13 or later, Apple silicon or Intel.

Tonight, fall asleep to your show.
Not next to it.
